Rolled ankle might keep Lillard out
Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard is day to day after injuring his left ankle midway through the fourth quarter of a 110-90 loss to the Spurs on Friday night.
Results of an X-ray came back negative, ESPN reported Saturday.
“I know I rolled it good,” Lillard said. “I went back in the game because I wanted to test it, and it hurt.”
Lillard, who is averaging 27 points and 6.2 assists per game this season, left the arena in a walking boot.
After sitting out 14 games with a strained right Achilles tendon, Dirk Nowitzki returned to the Mavericks lineup Friday night and helped them defeat the Clippers, 90-88. Nowitzki scored 17 points and grabbed four rebounds in 15 minutes. ... Dwyane Wade and LeBron James have a chance today to join Kobe Bryant and Oscar Robertson as the only players to eclipse 300 career points in Christmas Day games.
