Nothing Bundt Cakes, a viral chain founded in a Las Vegas home kitchen and now based in Dallas, has opened a new location in Park Plaza on Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. The new bakery joins two other Anne Arundel County locations in Annapolis and Gambrills.
The Bundt Cake mega franchise offers 10 different flavors, in three sizes: tiny bundtinis, personal bundlets, and regular-sized bundts. Beside classic flavors like confetti and red velvet, there are also seasonal flavors, such as the current lemon blueberry.
According to Continental Realty Corporation, which owns Park Plaza, franchisees Glenn and Rhonda Rogers intended to open last November, but instead were not able to open until late last month. It is unclear what caused the delay. The Rogers family owns the other two Anne Arundel locations as well and opened the Severna Park bakery on April 18.
“We researched numerous locations throughout the Glen Burnie and Severna Park area and it was clear that Park Plaza generates consistently robust consumer traffic,” Glenn Rogers said in Continental’s original announcement last year.
“We live in nearby Arnold and we noticed that shoppers visit the center for different reasons, a new grocery store is opening soon (in the shopping center), and this represented a great opportunity to serve the local community.”
The supermarket he referred to is Mom’s Organic Supermarket, which was also slated to open its doors last yearbut has yet to open. Continental said that over 52,000 vehicles pass Park Plaza daily.
On Thursday, Rogers were to hold a ribbon-cutting and open house at the Severna Park store with help from the Greater Severna Park and Arnold Chamber of Commerce. The open house was scheduled for all day, with the ribbon-cutting set for 11 a.m.
The Gambrills location opened just under a year ago, and the Annapolis location a few years before that in 2021.
