Three new businesses are getting ready to open at Broadway Market.

Soul Smoked BBQ is opening its first carryout location at the Fells Point spot by the end of the summer, according to the owners. The Baltimore-based mobile BBQ catering company has a menu consisting of classic American fare, southern delicacies and other sides.

“We will have a full menu including fried fish, fried chicken and some dishes we haven’t done since our first year of business and things we haven’t done for the public before,” chef and pitmaster Samara Greene-Scott and her wife Brandi Greene-Scott said in a statement to The Baltimore Sun.

Fleurs d’Ave plans to open a pop-up at Broadway Market on May 3, according to the owners. Fleurs d’Ave is a floral boutique that specializes in creating “bespoke arrangements for special occasions and everyday decor.” Fleurs d’Ave also provides delivery services.

MikksKakes, a dessert shop specializing in custom-made cakes and cupcakes, will also open May 3, the owners confirmed. The menu will consist of cupcakes, cake slices, brownies, cookies, banana pudding bowls and other items.

Broadway Market has a long history in Fells Point and is one of the first public markets in Baltimore, dating back to 1786. It is also one of six remaining public markets in Baltimore. After sitting empty for almost a decade, the market underwent a $3 million renovation and reopened to much fanfare in 2019.
