Baltimore County Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the mass shooting in Towson. However, two weeks after it occurred, many questions about what happened remain unanswered.

The day after the Dec. 17 shooting, police said 26-year-old Charles Graham Jr. was killed, and eight other teens and young adults were shot. Another victim was also hurt, but it is not clear how. Police also said they believed the victims were all traveling together in a van that crashed into the side of a funeral home and caught fire.

While police said early on they believed the shooting was targeted, they would not confirm if it was gang-related. However, they said they were investigating the possibility the shooting could be related to the homicide of 19-year-old Andrew Blessing.

“There does appear to be at least some rival individuals,” Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough said at the time.

While police have yet to publicly confirm gang affiliations, multiple law enforcement sources told FOX45 that the victim who died, 26-year old Charles Graham Jr., was a Crips member. Court records show Graham has faced gun, drug, theft and assault charges.

On December 23, Baltimore County Police said in a news release that “they are following up on potential connections between the circumstances surrounding this crime and that of other crimes in the region. Through information shared by the community, detectives have been able to gather additional evidence. At this time, detectives are also attempting to obtain further information from victims who continue to recover.”

It is not clear how many suspects have been identified, if any arrests have been made, if the shooting is related to the death of Blessing, and what the conditions of the victims are.

When asked those questions Monday, a spokesperson from Baltimore County Police responded with a similar statement to the one released a week ago, saying, “Detectives continue to pursue leads in this investigation shooting. They continue following up on potential connections between the circumstances surrounding this crime and that of other crimes in the region.”
