Sabres center Tyler Ennis is out indefinitely after having surgery to repair a groin injury, the team announced Thursday.

Ennis was hurt Monday in a loss to the Bruins in Boston.

It is the latest setback for Ennis, who missed the last half of last season because of concussion-related issues.

And it is another blow for the banged-up Sabres, who are already missing several regulars, including center Jack Eichel and defenseman Zach Bogosian.

Ennis has scored 20 or more goals in three of eight seasons with the Sabres. He has a goal and assist in 12 games this season.
