Nash & Smashed, a Virginia-based burger, fried chicken and Nashville-style sandwiches chain, recently opened a restaurant location in Federal Hill.

It’s the first Baltimore site for the eatery, located at 1118 S. Charles St. Nash & Smashed has another Maryland location in Silver Spring and plans to open others in Abingdon and District Heights.

The Federal Hill food scene has seen a transition this spring, with the openings and closures of several restaurants.

At the end of March, GameOn Bar + Arcade took over the site formerly occupied by Ditos Tacos & Tequila at 1114 S. Charles St.

“The building is much more open and all on one level with a huge patio in the back,” owner Casey Linthicum said at the time.

Ditos, formerly known as Banditos, closed after 14 years in Federal Hill, according to its Facebook post. Banditos has four locations in the Baltimore area and two in Northern Virginia.

On Jan. 19, Mother’s Federal Hill Grille closed after 27 years and countless tailgates for Ravens fans. Two other Mother’s locations, in Arnold and Timonium, remain open.

“While it is difficult to turn the page, we know it is the right decision,” Mother’s owner Dave Rather said in a statement at the time.
