Two people were injured in a house fire in Pikesville on Sunday, according to Baltimore County Fire officials.

Crews were dispatched to the report of a fire around 9:51 a.m.

Upon arrival at the 500 block of Alter Avenue, crews discovered a fire at a single-family dwelling with two people injured, a spokesperson with the department said.

One of the patients had suffered severe injuries and was transported to an area hospital while the second was evaluated, the department said. According to the spokesperson, it is unclear as of Sunday afternoon whether the second patient was transported to the hospital.

More information about the injured individuals was unavailable, the department said.

Crews extinguished the fire around 10:10 a.m. and said the cause is still under investigation.
