President Donald Trump said Tuesday he will “buy a brand new Tesla” to support his senior adviser, Elon Musk, as “radical left lunatics” boycott the billionaire’s company.

Trump announced his move on Truth Social shortly after midnight saying Musk “is putting it on the line in order to help our Nation.”

“To Republicans, Conservatives, and all great Americans, Elon Musk is “putting it on the line” in order to help our Nation, and he is doing a FANTASTIC JOB!,” Trump wrote. “But the Radical Left Lunatics, as they often do, are trying to illegally and collusively boycott Tesla, one of the World’s great automakers, and Elon’s “baby,” in order to attack and do harm to Elon, and everything he stands for.

“They tried to do it to me at the 2024 Presidential Ballot Box, but how did that work out?.”

Musk responded on X and thanked Trump for the support.

Tesla car owners and dealerships have been the target of nationwide protesters because of Musk being involved with the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

On Saturday, protesters rallied outside a Delray Beach, Florida, Tesla dealership as part of a larger “Tesla Takedown” movement to encourage shareholders to dump their stock, sell their Teslas and join the picket lines, according to the protest announcement.

Additionally, a dealership in Colorado has been the target of vandalism five times, including a 40-year-old woman who was arrested after being caught with explosives.

Tesla shares have fallen 45% in 2025 and on Monday tumbled more than 15% to $222.15, the lowest since late October.
