A Baltimore County man was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of first-degree murder for his role in a fatal 2022 shooting.

Anthony Sean Ross Jr., 32, was found guilty of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and other related firearm charges in February in the fatal shooting of a 38-year-old Edgewood man in April 2022.

According to a release from the Maryland State’s Attorney Office for Harford County, Ross was one of several men who shot at Angello Osborne, 38, of Edgewood, who was arriving home from work. Ross fired 22 rounds at Osborne while he tried to flee, striking him in the back.

Officers arrived on the scene and found Osborne suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Osborne later died from his injuries.

According to a statement from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, investigators charged Ross in March 2023 and took him into custody after a brief standoff.

Investigators later identified Joseph Ashley, 30, of Perry Hall, and Lashaun Denis Lloyd, 41, of Raleigh, North Carolina, as two of the individuals involved in Osborne’s death. Ashley, who was on home detention at the time, was connected to the murder after investigators used his GPS ankle monitor to confirm that he was at the scene of the crime when it was committed.

Ross filed an appeal of his criminal conviction in the Appellate Court of Maryland on Wednesday. He is currently being held at Jessup Correctional Institution.
