Billie Holiday once lived there, and now so can you
An Upper Fells Point rowhouse said to have once been home to Eleanora Fagan, aka Billie Holiday, is up for sale for $239,900.
“When I bought the house, I did know that she spent some time there,” said owner Ryan Higgins, 37, who has relocated from 217 S. Durham St. to Arizona.
Holiday lived at times on that block, which boasts Holiday murals and has hosted Holiday-themed events.
The previous owner gave Higgins articles about the singer. Higgins says he found scholarly articles and books that included references and interviews with people noting the house as Holiday's former home.
The three-level, 1,276-square-foot home has three bedrooms, a kitchen with heated floors, two full bathrooms, a laundry room, and a private patio and courtyard.
Higgins said it was cool to think Holiday once lived there, but few traces of her remain.
