Brandon Ingram and Luke Kennard each scored 22 for Duke (23-9), while Anthony Barber had 29 points and seven assists to lead NC State (16-17).

ACC:Cameron Johnson scored 24 points off the bench as Pittsburgh (21-10) strengthened its NCAA resume by fending off a late run to beat Syracuse 72-71. Michael Gbinije led the Orange (19-13) with 24 points. ... Marcus Georges-Hunt scored 28 points and Georgia Tech (19-13) erased an 18-point second-half deficit to beat Clemson 88-85 in overtime.

Big East: D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera scored 15 of his 20 points in the second half and Georgetown (15-17) pulled away from DePaul for a 70-53 victory at Madison Square Garden. Eli Cain scored 14 to lead the ninth-seeded Blue Demons (9-22).

Big Ten: Michael Finke scored 17 points to lead No. 12 seed Illinois past 13th-seeded Minnesota 85-52 in the opening round. Kendrick Nunn added 15 for the Illini (14-18). Minnesota (8-23) set a school record for losses in a season.

Big 12: Dean Wade scored 20 points, Justin Edwards added 17 and Kansas State (17-15) beat Oklahoma State 75-71. Jeffrey Carroll and Joe Burton both scored 13 for the Cowboys (12-20).
