The ladies of Potomac have broken the D.C.-area “Housewives” curse, as Bravo announced Thursday that “The Real Housewives of Potomac” has been renewed for a second season.

The first season averaged 2.1 million viewers, Bravo said in a news release, making it the network's highest-rated freshman series since “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

There's no word on which cast members will be returning. This year's lineup included several with ties to Baltimore — including Robyn Dixon, a Baltimore native who was married to former Terps basketball star Juan Dixon, and Gizelle Bryant, who lived in the city while she was married to the Rev. Jamal Bryant.

The last time the “Housewives” franchise was based in the D.C. metro area, it didn't fare so well. “The Real Housewives of D.C.” only lasted for one season.
