Jackie Nicynski, 35, works as the office manager for Washington commercial real estate firm Tishman Speyer. But what's being bought and sold at work isn't the only important acreage in this D.C. resident's life.

There's also her closet, which is always in flux. Nicynski loves to indulge her passion for fashion — as evidenced by the “concert chic” outfit she wore to The Journey Home benefit An Evening of Unexpected Delights.

“I like keeping up with trends. I love refreshing my closet. But I want to be constantly wearing the things in it. If there's something that's always being pushed to the back of my closet, I'll sell it because it's taking up real estate there,” she said.

Nicynski said she's always hunting for great deals on pieces, as well as eliminating those things she no longer wears.

“I'm really big on eBay. I buy and sell a lot of my stuff on eBay to keep current. For instance, I have a pair of booties from 2014, so I'm selling those on eBay to get a newer pair for this winter,” she said. “Currently, I'm selling a lot of low- to midrise jeans and buying more high-rise.”

WHEN IT'S THE DEAL WITHOUT THE DESIGNER LABEL: “I don't think it's completely rational to go to Intermix for a plaid shirtdress when I can do down the street to H&M and buy one for $30.”

HER TOP TRENDS TODAY: “I love, love, love the bomber jacket. I would get one in every color, every pattern, every material if I could. I love high-waisted pants with a cropped top. I'm not necessarily trying to show my stomach. But I think it makes your legs look longer and your torso a little shorter. I love the sneaker and loafer trends.”
