Angels: Mike Trout originally expected to return to the Angels’ lineup on Monday in Boston. It turns out the timeline was moved up one series and three days. Trout was activated off the injured list before Friday night’s game against the Guardians. The Angels slugger missed 26 games with soreness in his left knee eventually diagnosed as a bone bruise. The three-time American League MVP had two operations last year on the knee after tearing his meniscus.

Reds: The Reds placed outfielder Austin Hays on the 10-day injured list on Friday because of a left foot contusion. The Reds also activated outfielder Jake Fraley from the 10-day IL before their series opener against the Cubs.

Orioles: The Orioles placed outfielder Cedric Mullins on the 10-day injured list Friday with a right hamstring strain prior to their series-opener against the White Sox. Mullins has played 50 games, including all nine innings of Wednesday’s loss to the Cardinals after missing the first two games of the series.

Twins: The Twins reinstated center fielder Byron Buxton from the seven-day concussion injured list on Friday before beginning a three-game series in Seattle, two weeks after he collided with shortstop Carlos Correa in pursuit of a shallow fly ball.

Tigers: The Tigers placed pitcher Jackson Jobe on the 15-day injured list Friday with a right elbow injury. Jobe, a rookie right-hander, mentioned discomfort after leaving his last start, against the Giants on Wednesday.

Blue Jays: The Blue Jays put slugger Anthony Santander on the 10-day injured list Friday because of left shoulder inflammation and recalled outfielder Alan Roden from Triple-A Buffalo.

Rockies: Second baseman Thairo Estrada was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Friday and immediately inserted into the cleanup spot for his Rockies debut against the Mets. Estrada had been sidelined all season with a broken right wrist.

Braves: Braves rookie right-hander AJ Smith-Shawver has a torn UCL in his pitching elbow and will miss the rest of the season and likely the start of 2026. Smith-Shawver left Thursday’s 5–4 loss to the Phillies in a doubleheader opener and said he felt a “pop.” The 22-year-old was initially placed on the 15-day injured list before being moved to the 60-day IL on Friday.

Marlins: The Marlins re-instated outfielder Dane Myers on Friday from the 10-day injured list as part of a series of roster moves that also included designating opening day first baseman Matt Mervis for assignment.

Dodgers: Dodgers reliever Evan Phillips will have Tommy John surgery next week and miss the rest of the season in the latest blow to the World Series champion’s pitching staff.

Diamondbacks: The Diamondbacks have sent top prospect Jordan Lawlar back to the minors after he was hitless in 19 at-bats since he was called up May 13.

Guardians: Guardians outfielder Lane Thomas was placed on the 10-day injured list because of plantar fasciitis in his right foot Friday before the Guardians’ game against the Angels.
