Orioles: Mark Trumbo and Adam Jones each homered twice, Manny Machado delivered a tiebreaking shot in the seventh and the Orioles hit a season-high seven home runs in a 12-7 victory over the Red Sox. Pedro Alvarez and Francisco Pena also connected. The Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts extended his career-high hitting streak to 26 games with a two-run double.

Indians: Francisco Lindor tripled to tie it in the ninth, then scored the winning run on Mike Napoli's sacrifice fly in a 5-4 victory over the Royals. The Indians's second straight walk-off win ended the Royals' winning streak at six.

Diamondbacks: Zack Greinke struck out a season-high 11 to beat the Astros and Dallas Keuchel 3-0 in a matchup of AL Cy Young Award winners. Greinke (7-3), the 2009 winner with the Royals, allowed a season-low four hits in seven innings and walked none. He won his fourth straight start. Keuchel, who won the award last year, dropped to 3-7 as the Astros' five-game winning streak ended. Brad Ziegler got his franchise-record 38th straight save, MLB's longest active streak.

Dodgers: MLB found no violation and won't issue discipline over the laser flap last weekend at Citi Field. The Mets asked MLB to look into how the Dodgers were using a laser range-finder to set defensive positioning before a game and whether they were marking the field for shifts. Using electronic devices is OK before games but not during play, and nothing can be left on the field.

Tigers: RHP Anibal Sanchez, with a 6.67 ERA with an MLB-worst 14 home runs allowed, was pulled from the rotation. “I'm going to take my job back,” he said. “I'm not a quitter. I'm going to work to be back.” LHP Matt Boyd moved into the rotation.

Nationals: SS Trea Turner, the Nats' No. 2 prospect, is to join the club Friday, with IF Ryan Zimmerman going on the paternity list, MLB.com reported. If he starts, Turner will likely play 2B, with Daniel Murphy moving to 1B with Zimmerman out.

Extra innings: Mets 3B David Wright, battling a herniated disc in his neck, will go on the DL for “a prolonged absence,” ESPN reported. ... Jacoby Ellsbury had a two-run triple and a sac fly to pace the Yankees past the Tigers 5-4. ... The Red Sox sent down RHP Joe Kelly.
