Do you want the “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity to hitch a ride with the Goodyear Blimp?

To celebrate its 100th anniversary, the Goodyear Blimp is flying through more than 100 cities across North America and Europe, with three flight giveaways offered in 2025.

“While the popular airship has been witnessed by millions of people around the world from the ground, each year, only 0.0006% of Americans can say they have flown in the Goodyear Blimp. For the first time ever, this year, Goodyear will be giving three lucky U.S. fans a chance to join this exclusive club and win a flight on the Goodyear Blimp with the ‘Buy for a Chance to Fly’ sweepstakes,” the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. announced Wednesday.

In a news release, the company said each winning fan will get “a blimp flight certificate” that’s good for two passengers redeemable at any of Goodyear’s three U.S. airship bases in California, Florida or Ohio. They will also receive a $3,000 voucher for travel and accommodations.

As part of the festivities for its centennial year, the company started a tour at the Rose Bowl Stadium in California on New Year’s Day. It will continue to make more aerial appearances “at the biggest matchups in sports,” as well as first-time appearances at music festivals and cultural events this year.

“The Goodyear Blimp is an enduring symbol of both nostalgia and innovation for fans around the world,” Mark Stewart, CEO and president of Goodyear, said in a statement. “With its century-long history and unique ability to instill a sense of wonder in those who experience it — whether from on the ground or in the air, the blimp gives Goodyear a way to connect with the public in a way no other tire company can match.”

The release noted the company recognizes June 3, 2025, as the official date of the 100th anniversary. It is the day that is 100 years since the inaugural flight of its first blimp “Pilgrim.”

“Through the years, the blimp has appeared at marquee events, from the Olympics to the first Super Bowl, been featured in famous songs, movies and television shows, generated millions of dollars for charities and communities, and even aided the U.S. Military effort during WWII,” the release said. “To continue making its mark on history, Goodyear will this year fly to more destinations and events across the globe.”

The contest is open through April 10. Visit Goodyearblimp.com to enter, as well as to learn more about the tour schedule.
