WNBA star and Randallstown native Angel Reese has teamed up with McDonald’s for the fast-food chain’s first national meal collaboration with a female athlete.

The Angel Reese Special, a combo meal featuring a BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder with Cheese, fries and drink, will be available beginning Feb. 10, McDonald’s said in a news release Thursday.

“McDonald’s has always been a big part of my life, from grabbing a McChicken Sandwich as a kid to being named a McDonald’s All American in 2020,” said Reese in the release.

The collaboration isn’t the first major co-sign of this WNBA offseason for her either. A fashionista nicknamed the Bayou Barbie during her time playing for Louisiana State University, Reese also recently graced the cover of Vogue.

Some of the 22-year-old’s other recent cover girl moments include engagements on Sports Illustrated and Reese’s Puffs boxes.

“It’s really a dream come true to be the first-ever female athlete to have my own meal and be a part of McDonald’s amazing basketball legacy. I hope the Angel Reese Special inspires young athletes everywhere to never give up on pursuing their dreams.”

While Reese plays as a forward for the Chicago Sky in the WNBA, this offseason she has been playing on the Rose team in Unrivaled, an upstart women’s basketball league backed by investors like former NBA star Carmelo Anthony, who grew up in Baltimore, and tennis standout Coco Gauff.

McDonald’s hinted in the release that more tributes to the brand’s multidecade history with basketball icons would be coming soon.
