A 53-year-old Pennsylvania man was killed after crashing his car into a tree in Curtis Bay, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

First responders on Dec. 26 pronounced Frank Howard dead near Fort Smallwood Road and Laurel Way, according to a news release. Eastern District officers responded to the intersection approximately 4:30 a.m. Dec. 26. There, they found Howard in the driver’s seat of a 1994 Ford Mustang off the roadway and paramedics pronounced him dead.

Howard, a York resident, was the only person in the car at the time of the crash, police said.

Google Earth imagery shows the intersection where Howard died separated a residential neighborhood from a forested area.

According to a release, the department’s Traffic Safety Section is investigating the incident.
