It is getting late, just a few days away. So here’s a quick look at some of the options this New Year’s Eve.

Join the crowd

The biggest event is Annapolis’s city celebration with fireworks for two crowds, early birds and midnighters.

The ‘Early New Year’s Eve’ event at Bates Athletic Complex behind Michael E. Busch Center for the Arts at Maryland Hall kicks off at 3:30 p.m. with fireworks popping off at 5:30 p.m.

Then the festivities shift downtown around City Dock and Susan Campbell Park starting at 7 p.m. with a kid’s dance party followed by popular local combo Radio City playing into 2020.

The early bird extravaganza focuses on the younger set, with local teen bands from Lee Priddy Music Academy, craft making, moon bounces, plus an obstacle course. Annapolis police and fire departments will be doing some giveaways and have fire and police equipment on display.

There will be a shuttle running between Bates Athletic Complex and Park Place Garage at One Park Place.

Down and around City Dock the celebration begins around 7 p.m. WNAV radio will be broadcasting from the festivities at 8 p.m. and hosting a teen dance party. Then at 9 p.m. Radio City takes the stage to play until the New Year.

Mayor Gavin Buckley will lead the countdown into 2020 and the New Year’s fireworks over Annapolis harbor.

Watermark’s flagship boat, the Catherine Marie, will host an Annapolis New Year’s Eve Fireworks Cruise, with cocktails, dancing, and more.

Watermark also has a similar cruise aboard the Raven to take in Baltimore’s New Year’s fusillade.

Parking and moving about can be tough, so it pays to be prepared.

The city’s Park Place garage will be free from 2 p.m. Tuesday until 2 a.m. New Year’s Day. The city’s other lots will be running at normal rates.

You can reserve parking online at those other garages — Hillman, Gotts Court and Knighton — at annapolisparking.com, pick your garage and hit “Buy Daily Parking.”

The free circulator shuttle bus will run during the early bird events and then through the evening until 2 a.m. If you feel the need, well, there’s an app for that. Download the app, RLS Shuttle, then select “Annapolis Circulator” to track the circulator’s whereabouts and ETA at a stop near you.

There will also be parking restrictions in Eastport with parking restrictions on Chesapeake and Severn avenues.

Take a trip

Of course, you could duck away to celebrate elsewhere like Ocean City for fireworks as part of the resort town’s Winterfest.

Getaway to the Eastern Shore and take in Princess Anne’s Muskrat Dive. The good folks there gather to watch Marshal P. Muskrat, who long ago succumbed to his fate and was dutifully stuffed take a long slide into the New Year.

Or head to Berlin where the town will morph into a mini-Times Square with a ball drop for kids between 5 p.m and 7 p.m., then the “grown ups” count down to midnight with a ball drop.
