Travis Kelce is pondering his future in the wake of the first Super Bowl loss of his career. The All-Pro Chiefs tight end joined his brother Jason for a post-Super Bowl episode of their “New Heights” podcast on Wednesday. Among the many topics discussed were Travis’ future and whether he’s considering retiring. “I’m gonna take some time to figure it out,” Travis, who will turn 36 early next season, said. “And I think I owe it to my teammates that if I do come back that it’s gonna be a wholehearted decision and I’m not half-assing it, and I’m fully here for them. I think I can play, it’s just whether or not I’m motivated or it’s the best decision for me as a man, as a human, as a person to take on all that responsibility. Kelce, who also apologized to Chiefs fans for his shortcomings in Sunday’s loss to the Eagles, ranks third all-time at his position in catches and yards and fifth in TDs. Kelce has several interests off the field including his podcast, film appearances, hosting a game show, a beer brand and a highly publicized relationship with music superstar Taylor Swift.

Injury issues continue for Arsenal
Arsenal forward Kai Havertz may miss the rest of the season after tearing his hamstring in training, a blow that could furher dent the club’s attack following a number of injuries. According to reports on Wednesday, Havertz will be assessed after sustaining the injury during their warm-weather training camp in Dubai. It’s unclear if the German forward requires surgery. The 25-year-old is Arsenal’s top scorer this season with 15 goals in all competitions. Havertz, above, joins a list of forwards who are out with injuries, including Gabriel Jesus (ACL), who’s done for the season, and Bukayo Saka (hamstring) and Gabriel Martinelli (hamstring). Saka underwent surgery in late December and is expected to be out of action until March. Martinelli is expected to be sidelined for more than a month. The injuries leave manager Mikel Arteta with Leandro Trossard, Chelsea loanee Raheem Sterling and academy product Ethan Nwaneri as his attack options. Although Arsenal is out of both domestic cups, the club is second in the Premier League and in the last 16 of the Champions League. —News services
