Baltimore County Police announced the arrest of two 19-year-olds for being in possession of a ghost gun. It stems from a shooting that happened on Dec. 18 in Parkville, where reports of at least 20 shots being fired, on Wycombe Way.

The suspects are being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

The arrest shines a light on the rise in ghost guns in Baltimore County.

According to Baltimore County Police, ghost gun seizures are up 57% from this time last year.

In 2023, the department seized 122 ghost guns. This year, 192 ghost guns have been seized, with just days left in the year.

Last September, two 14-year-olds were arrested by Baltimore County police after a shooting near Lansdowne High School. Police charged the teens with having a ghost gun.

According to the Department of Justice, crimes involving ghost guns nationwide have risen more than 1,000% since 2017.

In Howard County, a 17-year-old arrested for the shooting death of 26-year-old Kendrick McLellan was in possession of a ghost gun inside a Howard County school at the time of his arrest.
