Evan Bouchard scored the game-winning goal with 38.1 seconds remaining and the Oilers beat the Canucks 3-2 in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinal series on Tuesday night.

The victory evened the series at 2-all, with Game 5 set for Thursday night in Vancouver.

Leon Draisaitl opened the scoring for the Oilers on a first-period power play and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins added a tally late in the second.

Conor Garland and Dakota Joshua had third-period goals for the Canucks, who lost their first road game of the postseason.

Calvin Pickard, 32, made 19 saves in his first-ever NHL playoff start, while rookie Arturs Silovs stopped 27 of 30 shots for the Canucks.

Jeremy Swayman made 28 saves, Charlie McAvoy had the go-ahead score and the visiting Bruins staved off elimination by beating the Panthers 2-1 in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinal series Tuesday. The Panthers lead the series 3-2.

NBA: The Nets will retire the No. 15 jersey of Vince Carter, who will be enshrined this year in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Carter played 4½ seasons with the Nets, averaging 23.6 points. He owns their single-season record with 2,070 points in the 2006-07 season. Carter is third in franchise history in points. He will become the seventh Nets player with a retired jersey.

Soccer: MLS suspended multiple players for their involvement in an incident following New York City FC’s 3-2 win over Toronto FC on Saturday. Toronto coach John Herdman, defender Richie Laryea and goalkeeper Sean Johnson were suspended for their team’s match against Nashville. Toronto forward Prince Owusu and New York City defender Strahinja Tanasijevic each received red cards. Owusu also was suspended for the Nashville match and Tanasijevic for the match against Philadelphia.
