A Baltimore Police officer suffered a leg injury after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to conduct a traffic stop Thursday in Southwest Baltimore.

Officers from the Southwest District attempted to conduct a vehicle stop in the 2400 block of Frederick Avenue at 8:56 p.m. The owner of the vehicle was possibly wanted on an outstanding warrant, according to Baltimore Police.

When officers exited their patrol car, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene striking a patrol vehicle and an officer, who was transported to an area hospital with leg pain.

The suspected vehicle was later found unoccupied.

Baltimore police have not released any other information about the suspect or the condition or name of the injured police officer.

Hours later, two Baltimore Police officers were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to conduct a traffic stop in Southwest Baltimore early Friday morning.

Around 4:04 a.m. on Friday, two Southwest District officers were conducting a traffic stop in the 500 block of South Caton Avenue when they were struck by a passing vehicle, police said.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the officers remained on the scene, according to Baltimore detective Niki Fennoy.

Baltimore Police did not disclose whether the driver was facing any charges.
