Christian Siriano named one of Time’s 100 most influential people

Fashion designer Christian Siriano has been named among Time’s 100 Most Influential People in the World.
Siriano, an Annapolis native known for his celebrity clientele, was included in the list of 100 artists, politicians, athletes, business leaders and prominent figures.
Siriano has designed gowns for A-listers ranging from rapper Cardi B and first lady Michelle Obama to actor-comedian Leslie Jones, who recounted a time he designed a dress for her for the “Ghostbusters” premiere after no other designers offered.
“He made me feel like I was supposed to have that dress on,” Jones wrote for Time’s list.
“That’s the specialness of Christian Siriano: He makes every piece feel like you are supposed to have it and like it was made for you. He has his talents and then incorporates them into what you want, which in the end is something that both of us want, making him a one-of-a-kind designer.”
And while former President Barack Obama’s portrait artist, Kehinde Wiley, made the cut, Amy Sherald, the Baltimore artist who created former first lady Michelle Obama’s portrait, did not.
