Live! Casino & Hotel’s executive chef Ed Evans will appear on an episode of “Chopped,” airing at 10 p.m. July 2 on the Food Network.

The Fourth of July-themed episode will pit four chefs against each other as they prepare summertime dinners with ingredients that include patriotic deviled eggs and star-spangled spaghetti, according to foodnetwork.com.

Evans, a West Baltimore native, has been a chef at Live! Casino & Hotel for over four years and oversees nine of the casino’s restaurants, including the region’s Zagat #1-rated The Prime Rib, the Luk Fu Asian restaurant on the casino floor, and David’s, a 24-hour restaurant that opened last year and serves global cuisine and breakfast all day.

Jay Rohlfing, executive chef at Cunningham’s in Towson, last week took home $10,000 for winning an episode of the show.
