President Donald Trump has endorsed two candidates for the Arizona gubernatorial election next year.
He posted on social media platform Truth Social that businesswoman Karrin Taylor Robson, who he endorsed in December, and Republican Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona, who entered the race in January, will “never let you down.”
“I like Karrin Taylor Robson of Arizona a lot, and when she asked me to Endorse her, with nobody else running, I Endorsed her, and was happy to do so,” Trump wrote on Monday. “When Andy Biggs decided to run for Governor, quite unexpectedly, I had a problem — Two fantastic candidates, two terrific people, two wonderful champions, and it is therefore my Great Honor TO GIVE MY COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENDORSEMENT TO BOTH.”
Robson thanked Trump for the endorsement on social media platform X, writing she can’t wait to help advance Trump’s agenda from the Arizona governor’s office.
“Today, @realDonaldTrump reaffirmed what he told me in December when he urged me to run on stage: That he supports me & has fully endorsed my Arizona First campaign,” she wrote. “I cannot wait to be on the 9th floor as a partner to his America First agenda. Onward!”
Biggs also expressed gratitude for the president’s endorsement. He said in a statement that when he becomes governor, Arizona will support Trump, honor the U.S. Constitution, uphold the law and quickly become the most prosperous state in the country.
“President Trump understands true leadership and knows the leadership Arizona needs to thrive,” the statement from Biggs read. “I have been grateful for President Trump’s endorsement during my congressional races and am humbled he believes in my ability to put Arizona back on the right track.”
Gov. Katie Hobbs, a Democrat, has not formally launched a campaign for reelection next year. She has, however, criticized Republican lawmakers in her state, as well as the Trump administration, on multiple subjects.
The governor posted on X earlier this month that the administration is “getting in the way of border security” and said in March it was reckless for the federal government to freeze funding for Arizona.
