Navy has equaled a program record by compiling a 9-2 road record this season. It's a real mystery why the Midshipmen aren't nearly as good at home.

Coach Ed DeChellis talks all the time about the importance of protecting the home court, but the Midshipmen just haven't been able to do it consistently.

Freshman point guard Kyle Foreman led the way with 17 points and four assists as Boston University led from start to finish in an 83-72 victory before an announced 1,264 at Alumni Hall. Senior shooting guard John Papale scored 18 points for the Terriers, who shot 58 percent from the field for the game.

“I thought we played very, very poorly tonight. Maybe our worst performance of the year. We played better against Oregon and Florida than we did here tonight,” DeChellis said. “I wasn't happy with the players tonight, and I don't think they're happy with themselves.”

Junior wing Eric Fanning contributed 15 points for BU (13-11, 6-5), which has won six of eight after starting 0-3 in Patriot League play. Sophomore swingman Cheddi Mosley added 11 points to a balanced attack for the Terriers, who almost blew a 15-point second-half lead.

Sophomore forward Jace Hogan scored a career-high 22 points to lead Navy (16-8, 7-4), which lost its second straight home game. Senior point guard Tilman Dunbar totaled 20 points and five assists for the Mids, who are only 5-5 at Alumni Hall.

“It's very frustrating because we play pretty well on the road and we're not playing well at home. I don't have the answer for that, but I've got to get it figured out,” DeChellis said. “No, it's not normal. I don't know what we're doing wrong, but I've got to change it up. I've got to figure out why we're not playing better at home.”

Albany 79, UMBC 73: Ray Sanders scored 20 points and Peter Hooley added 17 as the Great Danes (18-6, 7-2 America East) held off the Retrievers (5-19, 1-8) for their third straight win.

Albany has won 14 of the past 15 against UMBC.

The Great Danes led after the 17-minute mark of the first half, and had a double-digit lead until Will Darley scored seven points as part of a 10-3 spurt to pull the Retrievers to within 63-59 with 4:36 left.

Sanders and Hooley made consecutive layups, and Dallas Ennema hit a 3-pointer to stretch Albany's lead to 70-61. Rodney Elliott (John Carroll) scored five points and Cody Joyce added four to cut the Great Danes' deficit to 72-69 with 27 seconds left. Hooley made three of Albany's last seven free throws to seal the win.

Jairus Lyles led UMBC with 24 points on 9-for-19 shooting.

Lehigh 71, Loyola Maryland 66: Kahron Ross had eight assists and scored 16 points — including key late free throws — to lead the host Mountain Hawks (7-14, 5-5 Patriot League) past the Greyhounds (7-15, 6-5), whose three-game winning streak ended.

Lehigh had a seven-point lead with 1:50 left. Eric Laster made a layup and Andre Walker hit a 3-pointer to pull Loyola to 66-64 with 48 seconds left. Ross made a pair of free throws and Jarred Jones answered with a layup to keep it a two-point game.

Ross then split a pair of free throws, Walker missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer with six seconds left, and Kyle Leufroy added two more from the line to seal the win.

Leufroy scored 20 points to lead Lehigh.
