Garcia will fill the No. 5 slot in the rotation. He went 4-7 with a 4.30 ERA in 18 starts for the Braves, then was dealt to the Twins last week and won his only start for them, beating the A’s on Friday. ...

¦ Pirates: Andrew McCutchen hit three home runs for the third time in his career to spark a 7-1 win over the Padres. Gerrit Cole pitched seven five-hit innings in the Pirates’ second win in eight games.
¦ Dodgers: Kyle Farmer’s first big-league hit was a walk-off two-run double in the 11th for a 3-2 win over the Giants. The Dodgers won their eighth in a row. Yasiel Puig’s RBI single in the ninth forced extra innings.
