U.S. Senate candidates Angela Alsobrooks and Larry Hogan will debate Thursday for the first — and likely only — time during the general election campaign. Alsobrooks, a Democrat who is the Prince George’s County executive, and Hogan, the Republican former two-term governor, are vying for the seat of retiring Democratic Sen. Ben Cardin.

When is the debate?

The debate will be recorded Thursday at 1 p.m. at a Maryland Public Television studio in Owings Mills.

When and where will it be shown?

According to MPT, the debate host, it will be broadcast statewide from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday on MPT-HD. It will be available at the same time on WBAL-TV and WBAL-AM in Baltimore, and on WRC-TV in Washington, D.C.

MPT will have an encore broadcast of the debate at 11 p.m., and it will be livestreamed at 7 p.m. on mpt.org/vote2024/ and archived after that.

It will air nationally on C-Span at 8 p.m.

How long is the debate?

It is scheduled for approximately one hour.

Who is asking the questions?

The debate will be moderated by Chuck Todd, chief political analyst for NBC News. Panelists include Jeff Salkin, news anchor with MPT; Alexis Taylor, managing editor at AFRO News; Deborah Weiner, news anchor at WBAL-TV in Baltimore; and Tracee Wilkins, investigative reporter at WRC-TV in Washington.
