Mount St. Mary’s, Loyola Maryland cruise to victories
Nicole DeMasescored five second-half goals and Ellie McNulty (Broadneck) added four goals to lead No. 17 Johns Hopkins to a 16-9 win over Rutgers in the Blue Jays’ Big Ten opener. Shelby Harrison (St. Mary’s) provided a goal, an assist and a game-high nine draw controls for Johns Hopkins (8-2, 1-0 Big Ten).
Mount St. Mary’s 18, Campbell 7:Beanie Colson (Manchester Valley) had four goals and an assist, and Carly Miller (Marriotts Ridge) added two goals and three assists, as a strong second half saw the Mountaineers outscore Campbell 13-2. Jordan Butler (John Carroll) provided three goals and an assist and Zoe Hulbert (Fallston) and Alayna Pagnotta (Glenelg) each had three goals for Mount St. Mary’s (7-2).
No. 16 Loyola Maryland 13, Lehigh 6:Behind a personal-best five goals from Sam Fiedler (Garrison Forest) and four from Jillian Wilson (Gerstell Academy), the Greyhounds earned the win over Lehigh. Autumn Ryan had three goals, Sondra Dickey added two and Kellie Gough (South River) chipped in with a goal and an assist for Lehigh (4-5, 0-2).
Haverford 14, McDaniel 9:Allie Gibbons scored four goals for the Fords in the Centennial Conference matchup. Hailey Morris and Belle McMahon added three goals apiece for Haverford (6-2, 1-0).
Tori Arcilesi (Harford Tech) led the Green Terror with four goals and one assist, Annemarie Duerr (Chesapeake-AA) netted two goals and Lindsey Farrell (Loch Raven) corralled 11 draws for her fourth career double-digit draw control game for McDaniel (4-4, 0-1).
St. Mary’s 16, Roanoke 11:Katie Bartholomew ended with four goals and an assist and Ali Collie (Dulaney) added three goals and two assists in the Seahawks win over Maroons. Jayne Barkman (Southern) had a goal and an assist for St. Mary’s (6-3).
No. 14 Navy 17, Bucknell 4:Kelly Larkin finished with four goals and an assist and Moriah Snyder (C. Milton Wright) collected her first collegiate hat trick in the Mids dominating victory over the Bison. Natalie Irwin added two goals and two assists, Kayla Harris (Broadneck) had two goals and an assist and Andie O’Sullivan contributed two goals for Navy (7-2, 2-0 Patriot League).
Washington College 12, Dickinson 10: Kristy Grovom tallied four goals and Lauren Brenner added three goals and an assist as the Shorewomen won their Centennial Conference opener by defeating the host Red Devils. Cecily Docktor pitched in a goal and three assists, Colleen Keefe (Notre Dame Prep) scored two goals, and Alison Pantazes and Anna Bennett (Garrison Forest) each had a goal and an assist.
Randolph-Macon 18, Guilford 3:Mary Castle (Annapolis) registered two goals and three assists and Saunder Riley recorded three goals and one assist as the Yellow Jackets posted the ODAC victory at Guilford.
Hood 18, Delaware Valley 8:Laura Skorobatsch (Northeast) finished with four goals, with her final goal being her 32nd of the year, setting a new freshman record, as the Blazers tied the program's single-season wins record with the victory at Delaware Valley.
