Bel Air edges Westminster in girls lacrosse
Bobcats claim Class 4A-3A South crown; Fallston wins 2A-1A North championship

Grace Wehland scored the game-winner in overtime to lift Bel Air over host Westminster, 10-9, in a Class 4A-3A South region final of girls lacrosse Wednesday night.
The Bobcats improved to 13-4 and will face Sherwood, a 15-7 winner over Churchill, in the state semifinals Friday or Saturday. The Owls finished 14-3 and fell short of their 10th region title and the first since 2012.
Fallston 19, Patterson Mill 10: The host Cougars (14-3) took a 12-6 advantage at halftime and beat the Huskies (12-5) in a Class 2A-1A North region final.
Fallston was led by Kelly Emge with five goals and Zoe Hurlburt and Jesse Brennan each scored four goals.
Boys lacrosse
Glenelg 9 Northeast 3: The visiting Gladiators (12-6) scored the final seven goals and held the Eagles (11-7) scoreless over the closing 43:34 to win their ninth straight in a Class 3A-2A South region final.
Tyler Reiff had a hat trick for Glenelg, which captured its 14th region title.
Glenelg will face defending state champions Linganore in a state semifinal game at Mt. Hebron either Friday or Saturday. The Lancers beat Mt. Hebron, 9-7, in last year’s final.

No. 1 Eastern Tech 13, No. 11 Sparrows Point 7: The host Mavericks (18-1) fell behind 4-0 before scoring seven runs in the fourth inning to take the lead for good over the Pointers (15-4) in Class 2A North Section I final
Natalie Bates (2-for-3) had a double, a triple and two RBIs for Eastern Tech.
No. 2 Dulaney 3, No. 7 Bel Air 2, 8 innings: Isabelle Hodiste had the game-winning RBI single to lift the host Lions (16-2) over the Bobcats (12-6) in a Class 4A North Section I final.
No. 14 Northeast 5, No. 3 Chesapeake-AA 1: Christina Jordan pitched seven innings, gave up one run on four hits and struck out seven to help the Eagles (16-5) upset the host Cougars (18-4) in Class 3A East Section II final. Chesapeake-AA scored one run in the fifth inning.
No. 12 C. Milton Wright 7, Towson 0: Starter Katie Murphy and reliever Emily Kim combined efforts to help the host Mustangs (15-7) shut out the Generals (9-10) in Class 3A North Section II final.
Hereford 6, Carver A&T 5: Right-hander Erin Collins (14-2) struck out 17 to lead the visiting Bulls (15-4) past the Wildcats (13-1) in Class 2A North Section II final.
Collins went 4-for-4 with two triples and two singles.
