A 22-year-old man from Silver Spring died after crashing into a box truck Wednesday night in Glen Burnie, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department. In a news release, officials said Melvin Obdulio Jimenez Y Jimenez was driving on the wrong side of Dorsey Road, near Asphalt Road, shortly after midnight. He then struck a box truck head-on with his Acura RSX, police said.
Officers arrived at the site of the crash at approximately 12:20 a.m., according to the release. Jimenez was soon taken to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment, police said, where he was later pronounced dead.
The 42-year-old box truck driver, a Pasadena resident, was also taken to Shock Trauma with minor injuries, police said.
The department’s Traffic Safety Section is investigating the crash, police said.
