Marlins: Alex Rodriguez may get a call soon from his hometown team. The Marlins are in the market for a power hitter to replace injured slugger Giancarlo Stanton, who strained his groin Saturday and is expected to be sidelined at least six weeks. Rodriguez, who grew up and still lives in South Florida, played his final game for the Yankees on Friday. Stanton, this year's Home Run Derby winner, leads the Marlins with 25 homers and 70 RBIs while batting .244.

Indians: Abraham Almonte singled home the go-ahead run in the sixth inning in a 5-4 win over the Angels for a four-game sweep. It was the 10th consecutive loss for the Angels.

Mets: Steven Matz carried a no-hit bid into the eighth inning and the defending NL champions won consecutive games for the first time in more than a month, beating the Padres 5-1. Alexei Ramirez slapped a one-out single on Matz's 105th and final pitch.

Nationals: Bryce Harper hit an RBI double in his return to the lineup and Tanner Roark won his fourth straight start in a 9-1 win over the Braves. Harper, the reigning NL MVP, had missed five games with a neck injury.

Tigers: Michael Fulmer pitched a four-hitter in a 7-0 win over the Rangers, who did not score Saturday or Sunday. Victor Martinez and J.D. Martinez homered and had three hits apiece.

Cardinals:

Orioles: Jonahan Schoop's three-run home run in the ninth inning lifted the O's to an 8-7 win over the Giants in San Francisco. Down 7-1 in the seventh inning, the Orioles scored two runs in the seventh and eighth innings before Schoop's game-winning blast. Mark Trumbo hit his 34th home run, the most in the majors.

Extra innings: Two days after his final game with the Yankees, Alex Rodriguez's belongings were still in his locker along with his nameplate and No. 13 on his chair. ... Troy Tulowitzki and Russell Martin hit back-to-back HRs to lift the Blue Jays past the Astros 9-2. ... The Angels are mired in their worst skid since an 11-game losing streak in 1999. ... The Royals' 11-4 win over the Twins was their first road series win since late June. ... Ryan Braun hit two homers, doubled and drove in six runs as the Brewers avoided a sweep with a 7-3 win over the Reds.
