Pirates: David Bednar is back in the big leagues. The Pirates recalled their two-time All-Star closer on Saturday ahead of their game against the Guardians. The Pirates sent Bednar to Triple-A Indianapolis earlier this month after he struggled in three appearances to start the season.

Diamondbacks: Left-hander A.J. Puk was put on the 15-day injured list by the Diamondbacks on Saturday with left elbow inflammation.

Astros: Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. had another setback in his return from elbow surgery when he was scratched from a minor league rehabilitation start because of a stomach illness. The 31-year-old right-hander had been slated to pitch for Double-A Corpus Christi. Astros manager Joe Espada said Saturday that McCullers required an IV.

Orioles: The Orioles’ Ramón Laureano came off the bench and hit two home runs, and the O’s went deep five times in their 9-5 victory over the Reds on Saturday.

Mariners: Randy Arozarena hit a tiebreaking single in the 12th inning, Rowdy Tellez added his fifth career grand slam and the Seattle Mariners beat the Blue Jays 8-4 on Saturday, stopping Toronto’s three-game winning streak.

Mets: Starter Kodai Senga extended his scoreless streak to 19 innings, Pete Alonso homered and the Mets beat the Cardinals for the third straight day, 3-0 on Saturday.

Rangers: Adolis García hit a two-run homer off former Rangers closer Kirby Yates in the ninth inning, lifting the Rangers to a 4-3 victory over the Dodgers on Saturday.

Guardians: Guardians’ Kyle Manzardo spoiled Paul Skenes’ bobblehead day, taking the young Pirates ace deep in the Guardians’ 3-0 victory on Saturday. Skenes, starting on four days’ rest for the first time this season, worked seven solid innings.
