Four people were hospitalized after a “domestic-related” shooting early Christmas Eve in Rosedale, Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough said at a news conference.

As of Tuesday afternoon, police have revealed a minor died as a result of the incident.

Police responded at about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday to the shooting in the unit block of Breslin Court, which is located in the Ross Ridge Apartment Complex off Rossville Boulevard.

McCullough did not give many details Tuesday morning as freezing rain fell near the apartment complex.

An update Tuesday afternoon from the Baltimore Police Department stated a woman and two children were hospitalized after the incident, where one child was pronounced dead by medical personnel.

A man who the police believe to be the suspect was also hospitalized with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the statement says.

A police spokesman confirmed the woman was the mother of the two juveniles and was in a relationship with the suspect.

The county’s violent crimes unit is investigating the matter.

“We recognize that this time of year can be difficult for some people,” McCullough said, recommending people call 988 if they’re experiencing a mental health crisis and calling police if “something is brewing” in the household.
