LOS ANGELES — The father of a missing 30-year-old woman from Hawaii was found dead in California just two weeks after his daughter was reported missing.

In online records, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office said Ryan Kobayashi died in a parking lot Sunday. The documents note his body is scheduled to be examined, with a cause a death not immediately clear.

His loved ones said they are “all heartbroken and at a loss for words,” according to a GoFundMe account.

Citing a police spokesperson, People magazine said authorities responded to reports about “an apparent suicide” after someone called police and said it looked as if a person either fell or jumped from a parking structure at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

The news follows reports about Kobayashi’s daughter, Hannah, who allegedly vanished after she missed her connecting flight at LAX. Her family said they are worried about her safety and fear she was kidnapped.

“Hannah’s last message to us was alarming. She mentioned feeling scared, and that someone might be trying to steal her money and identity,” her aunt, who NBC News identified as Larie Pidgeon, said, on social media. The media outlet noted Pidgeon goes by Larie Ingrum on Facebook.

“She hasn’t been heard from since, and we are gravely concerned for her safety,” the relative wrote.

Another post noted Hannah was at LAX on her way to visit family in New York City on Nov. 8. But, she missed the connecting flight, according to the post.

While she had been communicating with family via text, her messages stopped a few days later, the family said.

Her loved ones said they contacted Los Angeles police, but urged the public to be on the lookout for her. They said she lives in Maui, is 5-feet-10 and weighs 140 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes, as well as fair skin with freckles.

“Time is of the essence, and we’re hoping your voices could help amplify this message across the Los Angeles area to increase visibility and bring Hannah back to Maui safely,” the post noted.

Anyone who has information about Hannah or her whereabouts was asked to call Los Angeles police at 1-877-527-3247 or The Rad Movement at 619-904-0840.
