Loyola women power past Towson in triple overtime
Hannah Powers scored the tying goal and assisted on Taylor VanThof’s game-winner with 1:15 left in the third overtime as No. 18 Loyola Maryland upset No. 10 Towson, 14-13, Wednesday night.
The host Greyhounds (4-0) trailed 13-8 with 21:17 left in regulation before scoring the final six goals of the game. Powers scored the tying goal with 58 seconds left in the second half. Kaitlyn Larson made 12 saves for Loyola, in its third triple-overtime game in school history.
Johns Hopkins 18, Boston U. 11: Maggie Schneidereith (Towson) scored four goals to lead the host Blue Jays (5-2) past the Terriers (1-3).
UMBC 13, Coastal Carolina 10: Carolyn Jamison (Westminster) scored four goals to lead the host Retrievers (5-1) past the Chanticleers (1-3).
No. 8 Navy 16, Saint Joseph’s 11: Kelly Larkin and sisters Jenna and Julia Collins (River Hill) each scored four goals to lead the visiting Mids (5-1) past the Hawks (2-3) on Tuesday.

No. 2 Boston C. 13, No. 14 Southern California 12, OT: Tess Chandler (four goals) had the tying and winning goals for the visiting Eagles (8-0) over the Trojans (2-3).
No. 3 James Madison 14, No. 20 Penn State 12: Haley Warden scored five goals and the host Dukes (6-0) matched their best start since 2011. Madison Carter (South River) had five goals for the Nittany Lions (3-3).
No. 8 Syracuse 17, No. 4 Florida 15: The visiting Gators (4-2) 5-0 run over the final 7:26 wasn’t enough. Nicole Levy had four goals for the Orange (4-1).
Virginia Tech 11, No. 16 Denver 5: Emma Harden (three goals) started a 4-0 run in the first half for the Hokies (5-3), who upset the host Pioneers (3-2).

Salisbury 20, Kenyon 2: The host Sea Gulls (4-2) opened with an 11-0 run and were never threatened by the Lords (3-2).
