A 75-year-old woman from Ohio pleaded guilty to robbing a bank.

Ann Mayers of Butler County admitted to robbing AurGroup Credit Union in Fairfield Township in April.

On April 19, Fairfield Township Police responded to a report of a woman robbing a bank with a handgun. She was arrested and police say she quickly confessed to the crime.

A bodycam recording from the arrest picked up Mayers saying, “I did whatever you’re here for.”

WKRC learned that Mayers was possibly strapped for cash.

Fairfield Township Police Sgt. Brandon McCroskey said Mayers had recently been scammed out of thousands of dollars from someone online. She also owed money to family and friends.

Prior to the bank heist she had no criminal history.

McCroskey told police she robed the bank out of desperation.

Mayers will be sentenced on Oct. 15.
