The Georgia-based chicken restaurant Zaxbys plans to open four new sites in Baltimore, Anne Arundel and Howard counties, along with previously announced locations on the Eastern Shore.
Zaxbys said Wednesday that a franchisee is “currently eyeing communities throughout Baltimore, including Nottingham, Rosedale, Glen Burnie, and Ellicott City.”
The restaurant is known for items like its “Chicken Fingerz,” “Zalads,” and 12 signature sauces. It also offers Southern sides like fried pickles and Texas toast, as well as shakes, quesadillas and more.
The Baltimore franchisee, Lattakia Group LLC, said in a statement: “We’re excited to introduce this beloved concept to our hometown in the coming years and to help create a dining experience that brings people together while contributing to local growth.”
Zaxbys is prioritizing the East Coast in its expansion plans this year, according to a news release, and hopes to push into Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York City.
The chain dates to 1990 and has more than 970 locations nationwide.
