Actress Amanda Seales pushed an unsubstantiated conspiracy theory over the weekend about the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump.

In a now-deleted social media post, Seales claimed the assassination attempt was a “staged” event to help Trump “show his strength” compared to President Biden.

“That s*** was more staged than a Tyler Perry production of Madea Runs for President,” Seales said. “I lived in Harlem long enough to know gunshots do not sound like making popcorn on the stove.”

Seales, known for her role in the HBO comedy series “Insecure,” went on to baselessly suggest the blood seen dripping from Trump’s face may have been the result of a fake blood “pellet.”

“It’s basically a pellet of fake blood that’s in your mouth and when you crush it, the blood comes out,” Seales added.

Neither HBO nor a representative for Seales immediately responded to requests for comment from The National Desk on Tuesday morning.

The facts of the assassination attempt do not back up the claims made by Seales. There is no evidence the incident was staged, and President Joe Biden has condemned the shooting, which is under investigation by federal law enforcement.

Thomas Matthew Crooks has been identified by authorities as the attempted assassin. Trump says one of the bullets struck his ear, which led to the blood seen on his face as he was escorted off stage by Secret Service agents.
