A mother who was taken into custody after she allegedly drove to a strip club while intoxicated and left her child in the backseat of the car has a court appearance on Tuesday.

According to KOLN, a 26-year-old woman was arrested in December after a bouncer at a strip club in Lincoln, Nebraska, contacted authorities at around 11 p.m. to report she had shown up at the business while heavily intoxicated. When speaking to police, the bouncer said when he asked for her ID, she handed over the keys to her car instead, per the station.

The bouncer refused her entry, so she returned to her car to get her ID, KOLN reported. According to the station, when the bouncer stepped out to inform the woman that the business would not serve her alcohol, he found she had driven away.

The bouncer told authorities she had only gone a short distance down a nearby road, and when he went to check on her he discovered a 1-year-old baby in the backsea. He recalled that at one point the woman stepped out of the car and fell in the middle of the street.

Police arrived at the scene and noticed the woman appeared heavily intoxicated and her child was cold, with temperatures being around 30 degrees Fahrenheit on the night of her arrest.

The woman was forcibly removed from her vehicle during her arrest and allegedly blew a .221 BAC while in jail, with authorities noting she remained largely uncooperative.

It was later determined she had been previously convicted of DUI in 2019.

The mother was charged with the following:

Driving under the influence

Transporting a child while intoxicated

Resisting arrest

Two misdemeanor counts along with an infraction

Her bond was set at 10% of $2,500 and she is scheduled to appear back in court on Jan. 21.

The baby was released to a family member.
