The Greyhounds (2-4) built a 4-1 halftime lead and withstood a 3-0 run by the Cavaliers (4-3) over a 3:17 span late in the second half.

Cami Whitford (Severn) gave Loyola a 7-3 lead with 7:59 left in the game, but Virginia outscored Loyola 5-3 in the second half.

The win by Loyola marked the seventh straight year that Virginia has lost the series.

UMBC 9, Drexel 7: The visiting Retrievers (4-2) went on a 3-0 run in the second half to beat the Dragons (5-2).

Carolyn Jamison (Westminster) had four goals for UMBC.

George Washington 9, Mount St.?Mary's 8: Gabbi Hull scored the game-winner with 7:53 left as the visiting Colonials (1-4) beat the Mount (0-5).

Sammie Knapp (Loch Raven) tied the score at 8 with 10:53 left for Mount St.?Mary's.

Gettysburg 10, Salisbury 8: Emma Wall (John Carroll) had three goals, but the host Sea Gulls (4-1) fell to the Bullets (4-0).

Nation women

No. 7 Notre Dame 25, Liberty 2: The Fighting Irish (7-1) tied school records in scoring (25) and draw controls (22) and won their 200th game in program history by beating the Lions (1-5) at Virginia Tech.

Notre Dame opened with a 12-0 run that started 6:01 into the game and ended with 1:38 left in the first half. Cortney Fortunato finished with a game-high five goals.

No. 10 Penn State 18, James Madison 17, OT: Katie O'Donnell scored the game-winner with 4:42 left in overtime to lift the Nittany Lions (5-1) over the host Dukes (2-5).

Madison Carter (South River) finished with a game-high six goals and Madison Cyr (Winters Mill) had four goals for Penn State. The Nittany Lions' Steph Lazo (St.?Mary's) scored the tying goal with 5:46 left in regulation to force overtime.

Georgetown 10, No. 14 Duke 9: Big East and Inside Lacrosse Rookie of the Week Francesca Whitehurst (Roland Park) scored the eventual game-winner and the visiting Hoyas (1-4) held off a late comeback by the Blue Devils (4-4).

Georgetown opened with a 4-0 run in the first half.

Whitehurst's second goal in the second half gave the Hoyas a 10-5 lead with 16:45 left.

Duke scored three goals over the final 3:38 but got no closer than one.

Frostburg State 14, Lycoming 5: Chase Cullison (Winters Mill) scored four goals, and the host Bobcats (6-0) rolled past the Warriors (1-4).
