Former Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., predicted Monday that “millions” of disaffected Republicans will vote for Vice President Kamala Harris on Election Day, claiming former President Donald Trump is unstable and pushing them away from the party.

Cheney, who joined Harris on a tour of three key swing states, made the comment while speaking during a Michigan town hall. She began by invoking the events of Jan. 6 and accused Trump of trying to cover up his role.

“Donald Trump is doing everything he can to try to get people to forget about what he did on Jan. 6,” she said. “When you think about that level of instability, that level of erratic decision-making, the misogyny, that’s not someone you can trust with the power of the Oval Office.”

The coming election, Cheney said, is not about choosing a political party, but “right and wrong.” She added that many Republicans have allegedly approached her to confess a private desire to “do the right thing.”

“I would just remind people, if you’re at all concerned, you can vote your conscience and not ever have to say a word to anybody,” she added. “There will be millions of Republicans who do that on Nov. 5.”

Trump took to social media to attack Cheney’s unpopularity with voters.

“Lyin’ Kamala has stooped so low as to pick a woman to campaign with her who lost her congressional race by the largest margin, 40%, in history,” he wrote. “The record holder is Crazed Warhawk Liz Cheney, whose father, Dick, convinced Bush to go into the Middle East and KILL. Now Kamala wants Arabs to vote for her? I don’t think so!”

Both Liz Cheney and her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, have said they plan to vote for Harris in November. Liz Cheney’s decision to back Harris has drawn the ire of major Republican figures, including former presidential candidate Nikki Haley.

The former congresswoman jabbed Haley in a recent appearance on ABC’s “This Week,” saying she couldn’t understand Haley’s support of Trump “in any kind of a principled way.”

“We can either vote based on style or we can vote on substance,” Haley fired back while speaking on Fox News. “I’m voting based on substance. I’m looking at the fact we can’t live the next four years like we did the last four years. This is no contest.”
