Jalen Adams banked in a 3-pointer from beyond half-court at the buzzer to send the game into a fourth overtime, and Connecticut went on to surprise Cincinnati 104-97 in a quarterfinal of the American Athletic Conference tournament.

“That was amazing,” Adams said. “That was the best game, and the longest game.”

After the Bearcats went up 88-85 with 0.8 seconds left in the third OT, the Huskies inbounded the ball, Adams took a few steps and launched the ball from about 60 feet. The ball banked into the basket.

In the fourth OT, UConn made its free throws late in the final minutes to the seal the win.

American: Jaylen Bond led a balanced attack with 17 points and Temple defeated South Florida 79-62.

ACC: North Carolina scored 24 consecutive points over a 91/2-minute span bridging halftime and easily beat defending champion Notre Dame 78-47 for to earn a spot in the conference final.

Big East: Kris Jenkins scored 21 points and Villanova smothered Providence stars Ben Bentil and Kris Dunn, advancing to the championship game with a 76-68 victory.

Big Ten: Kameron Chatman made a 3-pointer with 0.2 seconds left to give Michigan a 72-69 upset over top-seeded Indiana in the quarterfinals. ... Purdue center Isaac Haas scored 16 points on 8 of 9 shooting as the Boilermakers crushed Illinois 89-58. ... Denzel Valentine scored 19 points to help Michigan State rout Ohio State 81-54.

Big 12: Perry Ellis had 20 points, Devonte Graham added 14 and eight assists, and Kansas held on to beat Baylor 70-66 in a semifinal.

SEC: Antonio Blakeney led five Tigers in double figures with 22 points, and LSU beat Tennessee 84-75 in the quarterfinals. ...
