five-year flood mitigation plan.

Interest in the fate of Elicott City remains high; on Thursday, the Howard County Conservancy is hosting a roundtable discussion on the historic district — registration for that event is already filled, according to its website.

At Tuesday’s meeting, council members posed questions they said will be the topics of discussion at the upcoming work session on the funding legislation. Councilman Calvin Ball, a Democrat running against Kittleman in the November general election, said residents will want to know what the end result will be when mitigation is completed.

“At the end of doing this plan, we will be able to address what we’re expecting if we got another 2016 or 2018 [flood]?” he asked.
