A teenage boy died after being shot Sunday afternoon at a hotel in Pikesville, according to Baltimore County Police.
Police did not release the teen’s identity but said he was a 16-year-old male. No arrests had been made.
The teenager was found wounded by gunfire after officers responded at about 2 p.m. Sunday to a shooting at the Ramada by Wyndham hotel. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he died.
The shooting “appears to be an isolated incident involving subjects who were known to each other,” police said.
Randallstown NAACP President Ryan Coleman said in a statement that the Ramada, located on the 1700 block of Reisterstown Road, was a “crime magnet,” citing the Sunday shooting and previous incidents tied to the hotel.
“We can no longer accept this,” Coleman said, demanding security measures from the hotel’s owners and adding that his organization “will be exploring all available options including any legal remedies.” The hotel chain did not immediately return a request for comment.
Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting and ask those with information about the case to contact 410-307-2020 or anonymously use Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
