A 12-year-old has been arrested after they allegedly made a shooting threat to a classmate at a San Antonio middle school.

On Tuesday, Bexar County sheriff’s deputies arrested a 12-year-old student who allegedly threatened a fellow student at Luna Middle School.

Deputies say the initial threats were made on Sept. 7 to the victim by the suspect off campus over a FaceTime call.

After the victim reported the threat to school officials, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation.

“It’s vital that parents speak to children about the serious consequences attached to making threats. The BCSO will investigate these cases vigorously and will make arrests when appropriate,” officials said in a statement.

Police said the suspect displayed several photos of firearms and made a threat to the victim, as well as a threat to “shoot up the school.”

The suspect was immediately suspended by school officials pending an investigation. Officials obtained an arrest warrant for terroristic threats causing public fear.

Deputies with the Fugitive Apprehension Unit arrested the suspect at a home in West Bexar County and executed a search warrant of the home.

During the search, deputies discovered and seized a .380-caliber handgun with an extended magazine, as well as ammunition, two fake handguns and two different plate carriers for ballistic armor.

The suspect was taken to the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center and has been charged with making terroristic threats, a felony.

This comes just days after a different 12-year-old was arrested by San Antonio police for allegedly making threats of violence against several schools.
