Macy Miller and Gabby Boever combined for three free throws over the final 35.6 seconds to bail out their teammates' poor shooting late at the line, and No. 12 seed South Dakota State stunned fifth-seeded Miami, 74-71, in the first round of the NCAA women's basketball tournament Saturday in Stanford, Calif.

Miller finished with 18 points, while Madison Guebert scored 19 points and matched an NCAA program best with five 3-pointers as the Jackrabbits (27-6) survived despite their second-half struggles with the Hurricanes' trapping full-court press and 22 turnovers.

Adrienne Motley scored 19 points for Miami (24-9).

No. 4 seed Texas A&M 74, No. 13 seed Baylor 65: Freshman Anriel Howard set an NCAA tournament record with 27 rebounds, Courtney Walker scored 29 points and the host Aggies overcame the suspension of second-leading scorer Courtney Williams to beat the Bears (24-10) in College Station, Texas.

Before the game, the Aggies (22-9) suspended Walker, who averages 12.5 points per game, and Shlonte Allen indefinitely for a violation of team rules.

No. 10 seed Missouri 78, No. 7 seed Brigham Young 69: Freshman Sophie Cunningham scored 20 points and the Tigers upset the Cougars in Missouri's first NCAA tournament win since 2001.

Cunningham scored 16 points in the third quarter as Missouri built an 11-point lead then held on down the stretch after BYU got within 62-60 in the fourth.

No. 7 seed Washington 65, No. 10 seed Pennsylvania: Kelsey Plum had 24 points to lead the Huskies (23-10) over the Quakers (24-5) in College Park.

Talia Walton added 18 points for Washington (23-10), which will face host Maryland on Monday in the second round of the Lexington regional.

The Quakers (24-5) led 25-24 at halftime in their bid to become only the third Ivy League school to win a game in the history of the women's tournament.

No. 1 seed Connecticut 101, No. 16 seed Robert Morris 49: Katie Lou Samuelson scored 22 points and two-time national Player of the Year Breanna Stewart added 18 as the host Huskies (33-0) began their quest for a fourth consecutive national title with a rout of the Pioneers (20-13) in Storrs, Conn.

The Huskies have won 70 consecutive games, which is tied for the second-longest winning streak in team and NCAA history.

No. 1 seed Notre Dame 95, No. 16 seed North Carolina A&T 61: Brianna Turner scored 16 points, Madison Cable added 14 points and seven rebounds and the Fighting Irish (32-1) finished with a 52-18 advantage over the Aggies (19-12) in points in the paint for their 29th straight victory at home in South Bend, Ind.
