Chas Brown scored 22 points to lead five players in double figures as the host Coppin State men’s basketball team beat Delaware State, 83-75, on Monday night.

Terry Harris added 17 points, Tre’ Thomas had 15, Keith Shivers 12 and Dejuan Clayton 10 for the Eagles (7-20, 6-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).

DeAndre Haywood scored 24 points to lead the Hornets (9-19, 6-7).

The win gave Coppin State its first winning streak — two games — since mid-January. The Eagles moved to 4-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play when holding a lead with five minutes or less remaining.

UMES 82, Bethune-Cookman 81, OT: Bakari Copeland scored 22 points, including the winning free throw in overtime, to lift the host Hawks (9-17, 6-5 MEAC) over the Wildcats (5-20, 2-9).

Trailing by a point with 18 seconds left, Copeland was fouled and went to the line, where he hit both free throws.

Ryan Andino also finished with 22 points for UMES.

Howard 70, Morgan State 67: James Miller scored 24 points to lead the host Bison (6-20, 3-8 MEAC) over the Bears (10-14, 7-4).

Antonio Gillespie and Phillip Carr each had 15 points for Morgan State.
