Five games to watch
New York is the backdrop for this neutral-site showdown at Yankee Stadium as Notre Dame continues its pursuit of a spot in the College Football Playoff. But the Fighting Irish have a razor-thin margin for error and they’ll be facing a Syracuse team that is bowl eligible for the first time since 2013 and could win nine games for the first time since 2001.
Oklahoma State nearly pulled off an upset of Oklahoma last week and is looking to topple West Virginia. The Mountaineers are one of four teams vying for the two spots in the Big 12 championship game. Oklahoma State is facing its third ranked foe in its last four games. West Virginia quarterback Will Grier ranks fifth in the nation with 31 touchdown passes.
UCF puts its nation-leading 22-game winning streak on the line. With a win, the Knights would clinch the American Athletic Conference East Division crown and move one step closer to a New Year’s Six bowl bid. For the first time, ESPN’s College GameDay show will broadcast from the Central Florida campus in Orlando, Fla.

This is an elimination game of sorts, with the winner preserving a shot at reaching the Big 12 championship game and the loser out of contention. Even with a victory, both teams need to win out and get some help. Iowa State needs Oklahoma to beat West Virginia in the regular-season finale, while Texas needs the Mountaineers to beat the Sooners.
Washington State controls its own destiny in the Pac-12 North. The Cougars need to beat the Wildcats and knock off Washington during next week’s Apple Cup. The South Division is much more convoluted, with Arizona still in the picture. The Wildcats need to upset both Washington State and Arizona State while hoping Colorado can knock off Utah.
